Community Center Advocacy

Youth for a Prince Frederick Comm Center Logo

Help us advocate for a permanent community center in the central part of Calvert County for youth events, group meeting space, and community activities!

WHAT A COMMUNITY CENTER COULD DO FOR YOU:

Provide outdoor space for:

  • Playing fields for recreational sports teams
  • Playgrounds for young children

Provide indoor meeting space for:

  • Group meetings (i.e. Girl/Boy Scouts, rehearsals, weekend club or organization meetings, etc.)
  • Community events (art festivals, flea markets, etc.)
  • Parks & Recreation programs (yoga, art, dance, and music classes, etc.)

WHY NOW:
It’s an election year!
Did you know that the Calvert County Comprehensive Plan makes recreational facilities throughout the county a priority? Did you know that the Aquatics Center was on the table for more than 20 years, but it only happened because a group of youth surveyed over 3000 kids in the county and presented the results during a recent election year?

YOUR VOICE MATTERS!
