The Calvert Crusade for Children (CCC) invites you to become a member and/or to make a donation to our work that increases the well-being of county children and youth. We are an entirely volunteer organization except for a part-time office manager. We are a United Way partner agency. Funding received from the United Way supports specific grant programs only. Membership funds and contributions from community members allow for necessary organization expenses and other free programs we provide to children, youth and families. When you support us, you are making a difference in the lives of many in our youngest generation. As one of the few youth-focused non-profits that receive no county or state funding, we have a unique freedom to provide public advocacy on issues that affect children’s ability to thrive.
The CCC has positively affected children, youth and the Calvert community by:
* Providing Asset Development workshops to business, educational, faith communities,
service clubs and neighborhood leaders, who then can positively influence additional adults and older youth, who then can positively influence other children. All workshops are free.
* Collaborating to provide Youth Forums to county middle and high school students.
* Providing “Champions for Children” awards to outstanding county citizens.
* Building new connections with America’s Promise with “Calvert’s Promise/
America’s Promise 100 Best Communities for Young People” Award initiative
· Hold Citizen SummitsI for adults and youth. Evaluation Form comments included: “Being able to sit and talk with other community members about something so important”; “The main discussion was amazing. Learned a lot”; and “Hearing views from a teenager was a great experience”
We invite you to attend the CITIZENS’ SUMMIT III - Candidates Forum focuing on Children, Yiouth and Families on Tuesday, October 26, 2010. Come as an individual, or if you are a member of an organization, service club, neighborhood association or faith community, please share this information with the president or outreach leader for adults or middle and high school age youth.
Below is a Membership Form. Please support the Calvert Crusade for Children with your membership and/or a donation, or by sharing your skills.
With hope and love for all our children and youth,
